Applying For Probate

Having to deal with the death of someone can be very upsetting and administering their estate can be daunting and overwhelming. For example, there are different tax implications (such as inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax); debts, meaning the estate is insolvent; missing or unhappy beneficiaries or the Will may contain a Trust.

That is why seeking professional advice on your duties when someone dies is always advisable. You may also need to apply for a Grant of Probate to successfully administer the estate. We can help you with all aspects of the administration process and offer as much or as little support as you require, our service is tailored to your requirements.

Our Probate Services:

Applying for the Grant of Probate

We can assist you with the application process and guide you through the forms, in order to allow you to administer the estate once the Grant is issued.

Estate Administration

We can handle the whole process from applying for the Grant to arranging to pay the inheritance tax, collecting the assets, and distributing the estate to the beneficiaries.

If someone does not have a Will, we can advise you on how an estate is distributed under the intestacy rules and what your responsibilities and personal liabilities are.

Some Wills leave assets in Trust for certain beneficiaries. We can help implement and advise both trustees and beneficiaries on their duties and entitlements and whether such a Trust should be registered with HMRC.

Foreign Assets

We can assist where someone has passed away abroad with assets in more than one jurisdiction and we can apply for a Grant of Probate for a foreign Will.

Deeds of Variation

You can change a person’s Will after they die, and we can advise you on this and assist with the drafting of the Deed.
